Did you know that Tournify also supports competitions? Besides one-off tournaments, you can use Tournify to manage a league or recurring competition where teams play across multiple matchdays. A competition works great for seasonal formats where standings are updated over time and teams compete in a structured schedule.
How to create a competition
Follow these steps to set up your competition:
Click on New tournament
Enter the basic details (name, date(s), venue(s), division(s))
Click Create to finish the setup
Once created, you can configure your competition just like you would with a regular tournament.
Set up your competition
After creating your competition, you can:
Add all teams via the Participants tab
Set the format under Layout, where you choose one pool with all teams in it
Generate the schedule via Schedule. Note that it's important that you choose one round per match day when creating your schedule with the automatic planner
Enter results via the Results tab
Standings are automatically calculated based on the results you enter. If your competition consists of multiple phases (for example, a regular season followed by playoffs), you can add additional phases in the Format section.
Managing a competition over time
Unlike a one-day tournament, a competition often runs over a longer period. You should:
Schedule matches across different dates, 1 round per matchday
Update Results after each matchday
Share the public page so teams and supporters can follow standings and fixtures live
You can present your tournament on your tournament website and it will always display the most up-to-date standings and results.
